Sistas of Sappho (SOS) is vastly growing as one of
the newest, innovative lesbian forums. Our site is NOT A HOUSE, BUT A
HOME, AND YOU WILL BECOME PART OF A FAMILY. We support each other in
their art, profession, and personal life. This is a place to celebrate
LIFE and all the joys, triumphs, and tribulations along the journey. In
our home we are cultivating poetess’, but friendships as well. We pay
tribute to our faithful members through honors such as ‘Sistas of the
Month’, ‘Newbie of the Month’, and we celebrate all types of occasions
(i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, births, etc.). On the lighter side of
things, we have some fun games and topics, just to keep it interesting.
There is even a section “Blogger’s World” for one to BLOG their daily
thoughts. On the more serious side, we have a section on lesbian
health, finances, inspiration/prayers, and political issues.

Originally in November, 2006 our founder, Shh_be_still, envisioned
lesbians of all ethnicities, creed, or culture coming together and
enriching our lives from the gifts of one another through poetry. But
as membership has grown so has the purpose of this site. Ultimately, we
envision a Family environment that Empowers Lesbians in all facets of
their lives while still allowing our members to explore their poetic
voices, experiment with more traditional styles of poetry, and hone
their love for the written word so that they can truly fulfill their
poetic dreams and aspirations. We welcome the novice as well as the
experts. The voice of our family members is very important to us and to
make sure we are meeting your needs we have a suggestion box. With that
in mind, allow me to welcome each and every one of our new members and
to continually thank the current ones for embarking on this journey
with us.

With that being said, “THERE WILL BE NO DISRESPECT OR DRAMA ON THIS SITE.”

We look forward to growing and creating with each and every one of you as we continue to grow as women, lesbians, and poetesses.
